MADRID ART WALK

Grand Central Station, New York City 

Powerful Art Exhibition with a curated selection of life size reproductions of the three major Museums in Madrid: Museo del Prado, Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza and Museo Reina Sofia. Iconic works such as “Las Meninas” by Diego Velazquez, “Guernica” by Pablo Picasso, and  “La maja desnuda” by Francisco de Goya were in display.

 

The architectural quality and graphics used at Madrid Art Walk aimed to enhace the Spanish design, promoting the beauty and cultural richness of the Community of Madrid while raising awareness to the business opportunities it offers to international investors.

 

The pieces represented some of the most important art collections in the world and this exhibit brought New Yorkers a unique opportunity to peek inside what Madrid’s art scene has to offer.

 

The exhibition was situated at the magnificent Vanderbilt Hall at Grand Central Station Terminal in New York city, where 750,000 people visit daily and where approximately 7,500 pedestrians enter Vanderbilt Hall hourly, guaranteeing a constant attendance flow and press coverage exposer during the week that the Art Exhibition ran.

SPAIN ART FEST

Times Square, New York City 

The Consulate of Spain, Times Square Alliance and Coolture presented Spain Art Fest in the heart of iconic Times Square, in New York city, featuring the newest trends in video art, installation and performance by a selected group of contemporary talented Spanish Artists.

 

Celebrating the launch of www.spainculturenewyork.org, the Art Festival featured performance, sound, video, multimedia projections and installations engaging thousands of passersbys, while bridging art, technology and culture. The works immersed themselves into Times Square´s vibrant environment becoming part of its characteristic breathtaking visual presence. Touching upon life in the city and its myriad of visitors, the works invited to the intronspection of viewers, to ponder on the current social structures of a heterogeneous city, and offering an insight into Spain´s contemporary art and culture.

 

Featured Artists were Laia Cabrera, Antón Cabaleiro, Amadeo Peñalver, Itziar Barrio, Antoñio Ortuño, David Maroto, Veronica Peña, Esther Acharaendio, Xavier Marrades, José Carlos Casado and Juanli Carrión

 

Location chosen was Times Square, with 300,000 to 480,000 pedestrians visiting the heart of the plaza on a daily basis. The heart of Times Square, carpeted in bright red grass, became a garden where an array of plasmas encased in 1960´s cabinets reminiscent of a gone by era invited to the introspection in one of the busiest and most comercial intersections in the world.Atendance was extraordinary, especially when live performances took place during the day and night, which would motivate passers by to stop, participate and reflect. Press coverage was significant and awareness of the cultural web achieved.

 LLADRO´S FLAGSHIP STORE OPENING

500 Madison Avenue, New York City 

Lladró, creators of the finest handcrafted porcelain from Valencia, Spain, celebrated the opening of a completely re-designed retail destination and flagship store in New York City.

 

A series of creative and dynamic events filled with unique and unexpected details were designed for the grand opening, developing an aura of adventure and discovery with a design that worked in harmony with Lladró s excellency in product and service.

 

These series of eight events gave LLadró the chance to interact with various new audiences in an efficient and resourceful way, creating stylish, unique, high-end events that focused on the advantages of this new location and the exciting new opportunities for the luxurious brand

SPANISH SOHO MILE

   Follow the red Dress

Soho, New York City

The Spain – U.S. Chamber of Commerce created the Spanish Soho Mile 

to enhance the image and build a stronger “Fashion from Spain” brand. This one-of-a-kind event celebrates once a year the best fashion, footwear and jewelry from Spain.  

 

With the aim of developing multiple links between the creative sectors of both countries and promote the modern fertile range of contemporary fashion expression, Coolture designed and produced a thrilling fashion contest, runway show, promotional campaign and VIP party: “Follow the Red Dress “ This contest among the students of the Fashion Institute of Technology of New York, was the epicenter of a larger marketing campaign, unfolding a collaborative and  long lasting dialogue between Spanish and American cultures.  

 

A unique event celebrating the best American up-and-coming fashion entirely inspired in Spain where guests enjoyed  a contest that took them from store to store, enjoying the finest fashion but also delicious tapas, great drinks, live entertainment and exclusive sales at the following participating stores; Agatha Ruiz de la Prada, Camper, Custo Barcelona, Mango, Mascaró, Pikolinos, Tierra and Tous. 

 

An exclusive VIP after party sponsored by the outstanding wines of Vibrant Rioja in collaboration with V Magazine was held at the Pent House at the Mondrian Soho Hotel in New York City.
